Frequently asked questions
How does it hit the exact size?
The engine binary-searches the quality setting and re-encodes until the file fits just under your limit — so you get the highest quality that target allows. If even the lowest sensible quality is too big, the resolution is stepped down slightly.
What happens to EXIF and location data?
Re-encoding drops metadata (EXIF, GPS, C2PA) as a side effect — the compressed copy is also a cleaner copy. If you only want metadata removal without re-encoding, use our lossless cleaner instead.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
