Frequently asked

How does the check work?

We parse the file's own metadata: C2PA Content Credentials (the record tools like Photoshop and DALL·E embed) and the IPTC/XMP DigitalSourceType field. This is the same data platforms read before showing an "AI info" label. We do not analyse pixels.

Is "no markers" proof that an image is real?

No. Metadata can be stripped, and many generators never add provenance data. A clean result means the file carries no claims — not that the picture is human-made. Be skeptical of any tool that promises certainty.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser with the File API; no request carries your image. You can verify this in your browser's network tab.
